Notes & SummariesPast PapersComments"Prof. Omar takes attendance but allows a 10 minutes delay, a very respectful man whom I've had immense pleasure dealing with.
The course can be divided to theoretical and practical. We took theoretical before the midterm and it was about art and appreciating it in general and how to improve your taste in it, the professor used a discussion method and tried to incorporate everyone in it, classes were enjoyable. There's no book for the course so you need to write your own notes but only the general things, no need for too many details. At the beginning of the term, he gave us the chance to choose what type of exam we wanted so we chose a normal midterm. The midterm exam was composed of 4 questions and you are allowed to solve 3, the questions were straightforward, simply counting some points and giving an example (Giving an example is a proof you understood). The professor was very lenient in correcting and considered the question correct if you got most of the points right so it was okay if you didn't answer everything exactly as it was. He was also helpful during the exam in giving hints. After the midterm, we started watching movies and films and applying our theoretical knowledge in analyzing them, this part was my favorite. The final was a project, you can do it alone or with other students and it can be about absolutely anything that has something to do with art or appreciating it (Films, Music, Paintings, Advertisements, Social Experiments, etc.) It is of utmost importance that you attend all classes if you can and to participate as much as possible because the professor will reward you for that. I highly recommend this course, my favorite from all electives" |
